KORUS Gets Reprieve…for Now.

After a firestorm erupted over the weekend from ag, other sectors, and the Hill upon reports the president was preparing to terminate the U.S.- Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS), the White House has reportedly told key Members of Congress that plans to terminate the agreement have been taken off the table for the time being. Termination of the agreement would be devastating for the ag sector, as South Korea is our sixth largest ag export market and imports $7.2 billion of U.S. ag products. NASDA CEO Barb Glenn joined other ag CEOs over the weekend sending a letter to the president strongly opposing termination of the agreement.
