The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is publishing a draft guidance for industry entitled Draft Guidance for Industry: Questions and Answers Regarding Food Facility Registration. The 2016 Food Facility Registration biennial renewal period began on October 1 and will end on December 31, 2016. Food facilities that manufacture/process, pack or hold food for consumption in the United States are required to register with the FDA. The official Federal Register Notice will appear in the November 8, 2016 edition. The FSMA Final Rule: Amendments to the Registration of Food Facilities is also available. “Farms” are not considered “facilities” and are not required to register.
