The Senate Finance Committee held its long-awaited confirmation hearing for Robert Lighthizer, President Trump’s nominee to be U.S. Trade Representative last week. NASDA and a host of other agriculture and food organizations sent a letter supporting Lighthizer’s nomination and emphasizing the importance of having a USTR and their full team in place. Funding agriculture research is one of NASDA’s priorities for the next Farm Bill.
